ideas range

since this is a financial theme hackathon, i wanted to clarify on how broad the ideas can be.
what does "digital asset" include?
what will not be considered?

    Hi Tom - the guidelines are intentionally very broad. Digital assets include any type of token, cryptocurrency, or digitized form of value. The only strict requirement is that submissions use some type of blockchain or distributed ledger.

    so the app can be anything as long as it uses blockchain?

    Just about! This hackathon is focused on the payments/finance space in general, but any project using the blockchain can present and win

    Can we take a current project or open source project, add Crypto tech to it as long as we say we already had this code before the hackathon and here is what we added this weekend? I have some code for a raspberry pi solution but thinking of converting it to include fintech this weekend. I just dont want people thinking I cheated but having the core done already.

    Hi James, it's fine if you want to build on existing open-source code or code you've written previously, as long as you clearly distinguish what was already existing vs. what you created during the 24 hour hackathon.
